I left this Wretched Quickstart for last (even though it was our first release) because it’s a small book even in the full version. Anyway, I’ve added a few pages from The Seven Bastards to make it an introduction not only to the Wretched Bastards rules but also to the World of Bastards setting.

Wretched Époque just made it to Best Copper Seller on Drivethru. It’s the third Red Room product to get to copper since April (Wretched Bastards and Daughters of Darkness were the previous ones). Honestly wasn’t expecting it, but I guess Époque is a niche that hasn’t been quite explored in role-playing games.

Wretched New Flesh is an upcoming Red Room game, an OSR adaptation of Postcards from Avalidad, a Postmortem Studios setting by Miguel Ribeiro. The quickstart includes most of the rules and a setting introduction.
This is a near-future sci-fi/ surreal horror game inspired by the works of William S. Burroughs, David Cronenberg, William Gibson, and Clive Barker. The game setting is centred on Avalidad, a futuristic city in Morocco, where corporations have been conducting research in genetics, cybernetics, augmented and virtual reality, and biotechnology. By default, characters are expected to be ZoneSec operatives (a mix between law-enforcement agency and state police) or executives for Takeda Technologies (one of the most relevant corporations in Avalidad), but other roles such as Avalidad’s celebrities, fiscal royalty and seedy underbelly are also possible.
Wretchploitation Quickstart Released (Pay What You Want)
This is the quickstart version of Wretchplotation, an OSR game that emulates exploitation movies, from blaxploitation to Eurocrime., This is a condensed and (slightly) censored version: the naughtiest bits are off, since the full version is for mature readers only.

As expected, Drivethru will keep the scenario suspended unless I do “revisions”. But they were extremely vague about it all and they didn’t even bother to quote what was against their policies. I just got (again) a quotation from their own guidelines with a bold segment: rape or other acts of criminal perversion. Basically, OBS thinks we should screw ourselves because we are irrelevant independent publishers. Will we censor Sexual Holocaust? Fuck no! We’re all out of bubblegum…
PS. By the way, as we explained before, there are mentions to rape, yes, but it doesn’t need to happen in game. Did they even read the bloody thing? Probably not.
Wretched Country does for the western genre what Wretched Bastards did for fantasy: it’s an old-school game meant for playing anti-hero characters. The spaghetti western, already referenced as a source of inspiration for the OSR dark-fantasy Wretched Bastards, now takes centre stage. In this Quickstart version, you will find most of the rules (magic and bestiary not included). The full version also features: The Devil’s Country, a western-themed horror scenario about an international film crew travelling to Spain to shoot a movie believed to be cursed and Hellstone, a setting that can be used to run spaghetti, classic or weird west adventures.

Wretched GM Screen (inserts) – RELEASED
A set of landscape-oriented inserts (8x 8.5″ x 11″ pages) for Wretched Game Masters. Four are illustrated panels with evocative and wretched art by Warghoul (aka Lore Forge Meister) who also did the cover and some interior art for Wretchploitation. The inner panels contain rules references and tables for GMs running games of Wretched Bastards, Wretched Country, Wretched Époque, Wretchploitation, and Wretched New Flesh (or any of the planned games for the Wretched line). This is a work in progress and it will be updated when new games are released.

We just released a Wretched Époque Quickstart. It’s a 61-page version of the whole thing, including an intro and a condensed version of the rules (sanity and ritual magic rules not included). This is the time and the fictional place where Umberto Eco’s Simone Simonini crosses paths with Jacques Tardi’s Adèle Blanc-Sec, Edgar Allan Poe’s Chevalier Auguste Dupin and Maurice Leblanc’s Arsène Lupin, amidst anarchist bombings, the echoes of the Dreyfus affair, the catastrophic side effects of secret societies conspiring in the shadows and the mysterious results of experiences conducted by mad geniuses and occultists messing with supernatural forces.
