Wretchploitation Quickstart Released (Pay What You Want)
This is the quickstart version of Wretchplotation, an OSR game that emulates exploitation movies, from blaxploitation to Eurocrime., This is a condensed and (slightly) censored version: the naughtiest bits are off, since the full version is for mature readers only.

As expected, Drivethru will keep the scenario suspended unless I do “revisions”. But they were extremely vague about it all and they didn’t even bother to quote what was against their policies. I just got (again) a quotation from their own guidelines with a bold segment: rape or other acts of criminal perversion. Basically, OBS thinks we should screw ourselves because we are irrelevant independent publishers. Will we censor Sexual Holocaust? Fuck no! We’re all out of bubblegum…
PS. By the way, as we explained before, there are mentions to rape, yes, but it doesn’t need to happen in game. Did they even read the bloody thing? Probably not.
Wretched Country does for the western genre what Wretched Bastards did for fantasy: it’s an old-school game meant for playing anti-hero characters. The spaghetti western, already referenced as a source of inspiration for the OSR dark-fantasy Wretched Bastards, now takes centre stage. In this Quickstart version, you will find most of the rules (magic and bestiary not included). The full version also features: The Devil’s Country, a western-themed horror scenario about an international film crew travelling to Spain to shoot a movie believed to be cursed and Hellstone, a setting that can be used to run spaghetti, classic or weird west adventures.

Wretched GM Screen (inserts) – RELEASED
A set of landscape-oriented inserts (8x 8.5″ x 11″ pages) for Wretched Game Masters. Four are illustrated panels with evocative and wretched art by Warghoul (aka Lore Forge Meister) who also did the cover and some interior art for Wretchploitation. The inner panels contain rules references and tables for GMs running games of Wretched Bastards, Wretched Country, Wretched Époque, Wretchploitation, and Wretched New Flesh (or any of the planned games for the Wretched line). This is a work in progress and it will be updated when new games are released.

We just released a Wretched Époque Quickstart. It’s a 61-page version of the whole thing, including an intro and a condensed version of the rules (sanity and ritual magic rules not included). Wretched Époque takes place in the period known as the Belle Époque. This is the time and the fictional place where Umberto Eco’s Simone Simonini crosses paths with Jacques Tardi’s Adèle Blanc-Sec, Edgar Allan Poe’s Chevalier Auguste Dupin and Maurice Leblanc’s Arsène Lupin, amidst anarchist bombings, the echoes of the Dreyfus affair, the catastrophic side effects of secret societies conspiring in the shadows and the mysterious results of experiences conducted by mad geniuses and occultists messing with supernatural forces. Not yet pulp, not quite historical, it is neither the right time nor the right mood for Steampunk or Dieselpunk. Welcome to the wretched times of Nouveaupunk!

With their new policies, One Bookshelf opened the doors to woke trolls (or any other troll, really) to just cancel any game product on Drivethru. Guess what? After this latest attempt to cancel the Sexual Holocaust scenario I’m definitely not going to trust Drivethru. Yesterday someone complained that scenario had “offensive” content and it was “temporarily suspended to be reviewed by (woke) staff”. The scenario is labelled as having mature content, by the way… Anyway, we’m trying another store: Ko-Fi shop (it does have a store, it’s not just for tips).

Sexual Holocaust is an exploitation horror scenario designed for the Wretchploitation role-playing game. It should be run like a low-budget horror movie with adult themes treated in an extremely distasteful way. The scenario takes place in a fictional town, Hammettville, located in the surrounding area of a large metropolis – such as New York -, known among its inhabitants as Crime City, and it should be set from the early 1970s to mid-1980s, as those decades are more in line with the kind of horror movie being emulated. As with every other Red Room scenario, this is a sandbox-style adventure with enough information and plot seeds to last from a one-shoot to a small campaign. Sexual Holocaust includes pregens and player handouts, so it can be run without much preparation.
