Wretched new layout

A new version of Wretched is now available. Just like Expanded Wretched’s new version, this update includes a complete redesign in US Letter format. All AI-generated images have been replaced with previously commissioned artwork for other Red Room projects. The rules and content remain the same (except for a few typos that were corrected). If you previously purchased Wretched from the Red Room website or itch, you can now download the new file (Wretched Digital US Letter). Print-on-demand editions will also be available soon through Lulu and Amazon.

Introducing the Red Room Patreon

As we are considering downgrading the Red Room website from a Business plan to a Free plan (not right now, but perhaps next year) and, as a consequence, lose the ability to offer subscriptions, we’ve decided to create a Patreon, with membership tiers that are very similar to the ones available on the website. If enough people decide to join—even if it’s only with a free membership—I plan to use Patreon to post project updates and occasionally share free content. If you’d like to support Red Room or simply keep up with what we’re working on, I’d be glad to have you there.

New release: Interbellum

Interbellum is a tabletop roleplaying game of pulp adventure, historical intrigue, and cosmic horror set during the turbulent years between the World Wars. Travel from the canals of Venice to the streets of Shanghai, from the deserts of North Africa to the islands of the Pacific. Hunt lost treasures, expose secret cabals, uncover ancient civilizations, and confront powers that challenge humanity’s place in the universe. Interbellum is now available in digital format from Luludotcom and itch. It will later be available in PoD from Lulu and Amazon.

Note that about one third of the content of this new game is quite similar to Wretched Interbellum (historical background, plot hooks and some tables). If you own Wretched Interbellum and still decide to purchase it, we will gladly offer you another digital title from our collection. Just get in touch!

New release: Blood and Dust

Blood and Dust in now available in digital format from Luludotcom and itch. It will soon be available also in print-on-demand. Inspired by both Spaghetti Westerns and classic American frontier tales, Blood and Dust is a role-playing game of gunfighters, outlaws, lawmen, and fortune seekers in the Old West. The game includes cover art by Kyousakee, and interior art by Warpedplots and Kris Villarosa.

Note: If you purchased Wretched Country be aware that part of that game’s content is included in Blood and Dust (the setting and some of the introductory scenarios). If we still had the store, we would have sent a 50% discount code for customers who purchased Wretched Country. While that isn’t possible anymore, if you reach out to us, we will be glad to send you a complimentary digital copy of any of our releases up to $7.00.

LONG LIVE THE NEW FLESH!

The updated New Flesh is now available in print from Lulu (no Amazon option this time). It’s softcover only – at least for for now -, as the book is huge, and the price for the hardback would be considerably higher. Now, if you want a hardback option, let me know, and I’ll take care of that. And if you don’t know what New Flesh is… well, it’s the weirdest game you’ve never heard about: a future-noir roleplaying game where cyberpunk meets biological horror in the neon-drenched streets of Interzone, a dystopic corporate city located in northern Morocco. Set in then near future, this game draws inspiration from the works of William S. Burroughs, William Gibson, David Cronenberg, and other masters of transgressive fiction. You can find the links for digital and print on our website:
