Two new releases today! The RPGPundit Files issue 7: The Confraternity of Death: A short investigatory OSR adventure, designed for the Lion & Dragon RPG (but usable with any OSR-based system), and ostensibly set in medieval England (or the Dark Albion setting book), but which can be easily transplanted to any medieval fantasy city of similar features.
And Avalidad City Guide: Venture into the heart of Avalidad, a neo-futurist megacity birthed from the sands of northern Africa. This sourcebook unfolds the tale of a city that eclipsed its origins as a corporate dream to become a standalone marvel.
Note: If you already own Wretched New Flesh – Second Edition you can download this file for free. A large part of the information in this book is already contained in the second edition. The City Guide is meant mostly for people who purchased Postacards from Avalidad (a Postmortem Studios release), first edition New Flesh or anyone else wanting to add a bizarre new city to their near future games.
This is a full game setting by Olivier Scherschel, built on the Wretched system, complete with a succinct yet rich world history and a solid background that can be used for both short scenarios and extensive campaigns. The heart of Wretched Chanbara! lies in its deep immersion into the atmosphere of classic Japanese cinema, spanning from the 1950s to the late 1970s. Available now at the Red Room store, Giant Slayer and Big Geek Emporium. Soon will be in print on demand at Luludotcom.
We have been planning on doing a Wretched webcomic since Venger partnered up with Jae Tanaka for Under Fuchsia Ska’ai. We put that on hold for a while but, finally, we have the first two pages of an ongoing webcomic. These initial offerings come from the imaginative minds of Sdasein and Kris Villarosa (who’s also done some work for Chanbara! and the upcoming expanded Wretched core book). For now the working title is just that, the Wretched Webcomics; as usual we don’t plan ahead. We have no idea where the plot will lead us to and we welcome your feedback. While a printed edition is in the cards for the future, we’re initially releasing it digitally. And free, of course.
Our tale unfurls in Avalidad, the metropolis at the heart of the Wretched New Flesh universe. Here, we follow Clayton Reed, the commander of an elite ZoneSec operations team, and his two comrades embarking on what appears to be a standard assignment. Yet, what unfolds is anything but routine, thrusting them into a situation fraught with unexpected complexities. Namely, an encounter with demons from the Beyond.
