Red Room Update
It’s still a while until the end of the year, but it’s now time to announce that starting January 2026, the Red Room will no longer sell directly through our online store. Instead, all sales (digital and PoD) will shift to Luludotcom. Why the switch? Taxes. Income from Lulu counts as royalties, while our store sales face a 23% e-commerce tax. With sales declining and the effort of managing our store mounting, moving to Lulu simplifies things.
Our website will stay largely unchanged. The “buy” button will become a link to each digital product’s page on Lulu’s store. We’ll stop hosting third-party products, but your download section for past purchases and your wishlist will remain active. Subscriptions will continue, though we need to find a new way to share files with subscribers (without the buying option, store codes won’t work). more details to come.
In preparation, we’ve revamping our Lulu storefront. Many Wretched titles now cost less, thanks to standardizing on color printing and 60# white uncoated paper. If you’ve eyed older titles but held off because of price, now’s the time to check them out.
