Description

World of Bastards Volume I invites you to explore three scenarios in the gritty Wretched Bastards setting.

Daughters of Darkness: Set in the idyllic Var Valley, it revolves around the mysterious Temple of Ksenia and its female order. Dealing with themes of seduction, secrets, and hidden agendas, it follows the arrival of Lady Kamila, whose presence brings unsettling changes to the temple’s dynamics.

The Sound of Madness: Offers a prequel to The Seven Bastards, set during a brutal orc invasion. This scenario places players in a diverse band of warriors, lost in a dangerous landscape, where survival and uncovering
ancient secrets are key.

The Little Bastards: This new scenario is centered around a mysterious tower inhabited by a reclusive wizard, Aeneas Uldor. The story begins with the party being hired to retrieve a stolen grimoire from the wizard’s tower.

NOTE: Daughters of Darkness and The Sound of Madness are revised and expanded versions of previously published scenarios. The Little Bastards is a new adventure module by Sílvia Clemente.

Wretched RPG is a free, OSR-compatible core system that brings an emphasis on gritty, anti-heroic adventures inspired by cult movie genres. Designed to be played with its own simple rules or adapted to any d20-based system, Wretched settings like Wretched Bastards, Wretched Darkness, and Wretched Country offer dark fantasy, urban horror, and spaghetti western experiences. Other settings, like Wretched Époque, take you into the grim streets of 19th-century Paris, while Wretched New Flesh plunges players into a dystopian cyberpunk future. For space-faring horror and action, Wretched Space and Orbital Decay provide high-stakes sci-fi drama, while Wretched Apocalypse explores post-apocalyptic survival. From the superhero grit of Wretched Vigilantes to the supernatural mysteries of Wretched Interbellum, each game offers a unique world, rich with dark intrigue and moral ambiguity. The game prioritizes fast, easy-to-run settings that are perfect for one-shots at conventions, game stores, or your home table. With a focus on the morally ambiguous and a nod to 1970s and 1980s cinema and low-budget charm, Wretched invites players to embrace its “Spaghettipunk” style for short but unforgettable gaming sessions.

The moment I discovered The Wretched Universe trough a World of Bastards, can’t even remember which scenario was the first ever, I was hooked. THIS finally is an adult TTRP product that deserves the label “adult” and is for mature players not children. It is rough, dark, twisted and erotic in its very special way – Sword & Sorcery way.
The characters are fitting and the tables, by Crom, the tables! Those alone are worth to get everything you can from the Red Room!
Enough now – go Wretched Ones, grab your sword, your lasgun and your woman. Jump or do you want to live forever?
