Stefan Blåder (verified owner) –
it is well-written but really thin on what i expected.
12-pages (removing all the non-essential info), it feels like I am given half a product in some ways. Even with the blurb of “We know next-to-nothing on this mythology and this work is an attempt to piece together things”, it has some holes that feel obvious.
Reading something like, “They may run into deities, particularly any of the three Zoryas” would include more about these Zoryas, but they aren’t mentioned more in here. They are mentioned (one paragraph) in Baptism of Fire(BoF), and while some other texts in this document has been lifted (more or less word-for-word) from BoF, I find the only reason it wasn’t here was page-count.
Comparing it to the lore of the underworlds, one is very well mentioned what the guardians are, how to appease them and such.
What this file does seem to do that BoF doesn’t include is extra information on the world of Fire and Water as well as the good and evil faeries, a Faerie Pond encounter (Nothing too unique, but still nice to include), The World of Demons and the Overworlds seems completely missing from BoF, making this even more a DLC to that product.
I wonder if this is what to expect out of the Pundit Files as a standard. I find it hard to recommend it as it feels lacking in some areas, and I need to have BoF at hand to make full use of this, and very well-written in other ways, which feels like it could just as well be included in BoF version 1.1 or something.
