ZOTH-LACED WORM TRAILS (A Cha’alt Zine)
6,00 €
System-agnostic OSR RPG content for use with Cha’alt, Alpha Blue, Encounter Critical and other old school, science fantasy RPGs.
“The Almasaiyin, the nomadic tribes known as the Forgotten People, wander the western deserts of Cha’alt. Their elders once spoke of a time when their ancient ancestors worshipped a foul god, a ravager of worlds. They told the legends of Aza’ak-Khat, the Living Temple and the Beast Within the Walls. The younger generations often dismissed these tales. It was now too late to heed the warnings as many perished, staring mouths agape, as the great citadel descended from the fuchsia sky to rain death upon them.”
Did you ever want to run a mashup inspired by Dune, Krull, Cthulhu stories, a slew of cheesy, post-apocalyptic movies and classic fantasy RPGs? Well, that’s one part of this zine. The rest of it contains Cha’alt-inspired material and other content that can be converted to many systems.
WHAT’S A CHA’ALT?
Cha’alt is an eldritch, post-apocalyptic, gonzo, sleazy science fantasy RPG in the OSR tradition. It’s produced along with the Alpha Blue, Encounter Critical III and related settings by Korthalis Publishing by Venger Satanis. Venger is the moniker of a very cool dude and family man who has zero people tied up in his basement (that I know of.) Cha’alt uses the Crimson Dragon Slayer d20 (a.k.a. “05E”) rules but you can adapt content to most any OSR rules set or version of GranDnD.
Inside you will find:
– A poem by Venger Satanis
– Tips on including the Rule of Cool in your Old School games
– The Citadel of Aza’ak-Khat, an adventure outline with enough meat and potatoes to run in Cha’alt or your campaign world of choice
– Zoth Drinks and other zothic items, zoth being the remnant of eldritch ichor spilled from the corpses of elder gods. It is a highly prized commodity on Cha’alt and elsewhere in the universe
– A bit about making small, bladed weapons less lame
– Ad parodies
– A one page comic
– A D20 table of (gonzo) supplemental character details, from badass to bizarre (Why be vanilla?)
– D20 things encountered in an alley, written by Venger Satanis
– An inspirational viewing list
– Comics designed by the author’s inner twelve year old!
– Fake ads for fictional products and in-game effects for player character consumers
Expect to find as much odd, disturbing and wickedly awesome things as you would see in other Cha’alt products.
Take a walk on the wild side. Enter the Cha’altiverse! (Or you could just mine this for ideas. At the very least, it makes for interesting bathroom reading material.)
